Children and Family Ministries Coordinator  (Part-Time, approx. 20 hrs/week)
Shady Grove United Methodist Church (Mechanicsville), near Richmond, Virginia, is offering a part-time opportunity to develop and oversee Christian Faith Formation and Discipleship development with children and their families.  Scope of the direct ministry is with children from age birth to fifth grade and their families, with an overall goal of providing opportunities for children and families to grow closer to God and become more like Jesus.  Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of Sunday morning church school, weekly small groups, Vacation Bible School as well as recruiting and managing volunteers.  The successful candidate must have strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and manage multiple tasks.  Collaborative work with other staff and ministry teams engaged in spiritual faith formation will be essential as well.  There is an opportunity for the role to move to Full Time with an expanded scope.  A full job description can be downloaded here.

Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministries (Part-Time, approx. 20 hrs/week)
Shady Grove United Methodist Church (Mechanicsville), near Richmond, Virginia, is offering a part-time opportunity to implement a Christ-centered multi-dimensional youth and young adult ministry program. Primarily focusing on youth in grades 6-12, the coordinator will work with the Director of Discipleship to implement a ministry that enables youth to grow into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ while promoting Christian service in the world.  Responsibilities will include youth group, small groups, mission experiences, and retreats. The coordinator will support college and young adult ministry programs as well. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work with other church staff, parents, and adult volunteers to implement intergenerational ministry opportunities. College-level pre-ministerial study, or study in the areas of youth ministry or Christian education are a must. Candidate must possess leadership and organizational skills.  Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office suite software and other job related applications and social media.  A basic understanding and appreciation of United Methodist theology is required.
