INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS Guatemala For the past nine years volunteers from Shady Grove United Methodist Church and other area churches have joined together to serve the Mayan families in the highlands of Guatemala. The construction team builds "cooking" stoves to improve the health and living conditions for the remote villages. We are met each year by the villagers who are excited to renew their "Hope" that someone cares about them and their children. We always are blessed by this experience while serving the Lord. Honduras Honduras Medical Mountain Mission Team is a team of volunteers made up of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, Spanish translators and lay people who take a medical clinic into the mountains of Honduras. This mission is partnered with The Friends of Barnabas Foundation. In addition to general medical treatment, an eye clinic, deworming and dental services may also be available. We also screen the children for serious medical complications and refer them to the extended care program. This program provides additional medical/surgical treatment for these children. Please contact Kelli Smith for more information. Romania Stepping Forward Romania works with children living in government institutions in Bucharest, Romania. The ministry focuses on inspiring the children to see their potential in Christ. Camp Living Water is a summer camp where the children can experience the good news of the gospel of Christ. Teams going to Romania can work directly in the orphanages, work along with the Romania staff at Camp Living Water, and help in the continuing construction of the camp.
