Adult Music Ensembles Chancel Choir Chancel Choir is the primary choir for the 11:00 worship service. They sing a wide variety of choral repertoire ranging from masterworks to spiritual, gospel, and hymn arrangements. Rehearsals are in the choir room (S109) on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. No audition is required, but an individual consultation with the Minister of Music is recommended for vocal part placement. The Grove Singers The Grove Singers is for the individual who loves to sing, but is unable to make a weekly commitment to Chancel Choir. The Grove Singers participate in the 8:15 worship service approximately two times per month. They practice in the choir room (S109) at 7:45 a.m. on the Sundays on which they are scheduled. For a worship schedule, please consult the choir schedule posted on the website or on the bulletin board outside the choir room. The Shady Grove Brass This all-volunteer ensemble is open to high school students and adults who play a brass instrument. They participate in worship approximately three times per semester, and usually begin rehearsals three weeks prior to the worship date. Celebration Bells Using three octaves of handbells, this ensemble participates in worship approximately once per month. No prior experience is necessary to join, though the ability to read music is very helpful. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at 7:30 in the Chapel. (E206) Contact Nat Tuck to join. Beginning Bells This ensemble is a very friendly way to not only learn how to ring, but to enhance your musical knowledge as a whole. You will be gently guided through the musical process, and will have the opportunity to share your new-found musical gifts in worship. Contact Nat Tuck to join. Hyperlink For an upbeat, fun, and contemporary musical experience, Hyperlink is offered as Shady Grove's praise band. They lead the 9:45 "Connection" service each week. We are always looking for vocalists and instrumentalists to share their gifts. Rehearsals are in the Sanctuary (S200) on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. Contact Paul Bakeman to join.
